38mm wide collar made with the COBRA® PRO STYLE 18Kn buckle with integrated steel D ring.  These buckles meet the highest safety requirements for users, as they can only be opened when released by pressing both clips at the same time. The locking mechanism thereby allows easy engagement of the interlocking components, which is confirmed by a distinct clicking sound. One-sided locking is nearly impossible. The integrated hinged D Ring adds further strength and ease of use in one matte black anodised metal unit. Cobra buckles are used by professional working dog agencies and military all over the world in a variety of equipment and are the best we can source worldwide.  The strength of the Cobra buckle with the durability and strength of Biothane is the perfect match.

More about the buckle - it is a hybrid of two standard products of safety industry hardware: the parachute D-Ring and the AN.SI COBRA®. The unique construction allows a central positioning and prevents the D-Ring from getting squeezed against the webbing and therefore enables easy handling. The D-Ring COBRA® meets ANSI and CSA standards as well as salt fog and blowing sand test certifications.  The COBRA® locking mechanism is patented and guarantees highest safety. A one-sided opening of the lock is not possible even if the buckle is under load.

The buckle is strength rated as follows:

  • Buckle:  18kN / 4000lb MBS (straight pull).  36kN Loop configuration.
  • Dring:    22kN / 5000 lb MBS (straight pull).
  • Far exceeds ANSI Z359.1, CSA, EN, UIAA, and NFPA standards for fall protection.
    Made from 12mm – 7075 aluminIum alloy.
    Stainless Steel adjuster, rivets, components, and D-ring. Brass clips.
    CNC Machined for flawless precision, reliability, and safety. No sharp edges.

Biothane is very strong in terms of pulling weight and will last longer than nylon or uncoated webbing collars, but if your dog is left alone with it and chews it, they can chew through it like any collar, so we do not recommend leaving it in a position where the dog can chew it. 

**Please choose your sizes carefully, as these items are made-to-order.  If your dog is on the cusp of a size we recommend going to the larger size as they can be cut shorter very easily once you check it on your dog.  They won't fray. We are happy to make adjustments after sale where possible but it may incur a small charge for the labour and return shipping. If you find this necessary or you require a size outside our normal range please contact us as we can make bespoke items.
